Cranmore Meadows is a pocket neighborhood of 13 lots for tiny-house-on-wheels RVs on a 20+ acre wildlife preserve. Near the town of Saxapahaw, the property features rolling hills, open meadows, hardwood forest, a spring-fed pond, a small permaculture farm, and Haw Creek. Each lot has full hookups for water, septic, power, broadband internet, and 2 parking spots. The lots are 8,000SF (about 1/5 acre) each and comes with a permanent address & mailbox.

Residents can access common areas such as an outdoor pavilion for events, as well as catering kitchen and guest quarters.

Please note: As of summer 2024 we are fully rented! Also, we are unable to accommodate unscheduled visitors. If you’d like to visit the property, we offer them the first Sunday of each month at 2pm. Use the form below to let us know if you’d like to visit!

Vision

Cranmore Meadows is a community that puts people and planet first and serves as an example of what a more sustainable and interconnected future could look like. We accomplish this by providing accommodations for low-impact mobile housing, alternative green building and other sustainability workshops, community gatherings focused on connecting with the land and each other, and farming practices that enhance ecosystem processes on our land. Every decision we make is guided by putting the health of our land and its inhabitants above all else.

We (Callie Brauel & Nathan Huening) have been living full-time in a 200SF tiny house on wheels since 2016, and love the way that it's enabled us to shed unnecessary belongings, travel more, live simply, focus on what's important, and save money. We'd like other people to have the same opportunity.

We purchased the property in 2018 with the goal of creating a tiny house community to call our own and welcome others who share our desire to live simply and with more intention. In the intervening years, we've worked closely with county officials, surveyors, soil scientists, engineers, and consultants to create a community we’re proud to call home.
